POC - AI Commerce Protocol (ACP)

Brink Commerce is exploring how emerging AI-driven interfaces like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot can become new sales channels for our merchants.

The initiative focuses on evaluating the AI Commerce Protocol (ACP) — an open framework that enables AI agents to browse products, build carts, and complete purchases directly in chat interfaces.

Objective:

To understand how Brink can act as the commerce backbone for AI-driven shopping experiences by connecting our merchants’ data and checkout flows to these new conversational platforms.

Scope:

  • Map ACP specification to existing Brink APIs (/products, /prices, /inventory, /carts, /orders).

  • Evaluate what’s required to build a minimal ACP Gateway on top of Brink.

  • Assess authentication, payment, and merchant onboarding models.

  • Identify one or more pilot merchants (e.g. Nelly, Gina Tricot) for proof-of-concept integration.

Why it matters for our merchants

  • Opens a new sales channel where customers can discover and buy products directly through AI assistants.

  • Extends Brink’s API-first capabilities into the next generation of digital commerce.

  • Positions our merchants to be early adopters of AI-driven shopping experiences that merge convenience, personalization, and real-time intent.
