Google SSO Support

What's new

You can now sign in to the Brink Merchant Portal with your Google Workspace account. Once your tenant has Google SSO enabled, users authenticate with their Google identity instead of managing a separate Merchant Portal password.

Why it matters

  • Faster, smoother sign-in. No extra password to remember, reset, or rotate for the Merchant Portal.

  • Stronger security posture. Authentication policies you already enforce in Google Workspace β€” MFA, conditional access, session controls, device posture β€” now apply when your team accesses the Merchant Portal.

  • Easier access lifecycle. Disabling a user in Google Workspace immediately cuts off their Merchant Portal access, simplifying offboarding for IT and security teams.

How it works

  • Google SSO appears as a sign-in option on the Merchant Portal login screen.

  • Brink permissions and roles (cx-user, cx-admin, ecom-admin, system-admin, brinkcommerce-superuser, etc.) continue to be managed in Brink. SSO controls who can authenticate; Brink groups control what they can do once signed in.

  • Each user that signs in via Google is linked to a Brink user record provisioned by your administrator.

How to enable it

  1. Contact your Brink Customer Success Manager to enable Google SSO for your environment.

  2. A user administrator provisions Merchant Portal users with the email addresses that match their Google accounts, and assigns them to the appropriate Brink groups.

  3. Users open the Merchant Portal and choose "Sign in with Google."

Things to know

  • Group and role assignment is unchanged β€” administrators continue to manage Brink groups in the Merchant Portal.
